Simpson Strong-Tie Brings Fastener Innovations and Expanded Line of Stainless-Steel Titen HD® Anchors to 2018 STAFDA Convention

Pleasanton, Calif. – Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, will bring an expanded line of code-listed, stainless-steel Titen HD screw anchors (THDSS) along with other product innovations to the 42nd annual Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) convention and trade show being held October 28-30 in Phoenix, Ariz.

“The STAFDA show presents an opportunity each fall for members of the specialty fastener and tool distributor community to convene and take part in educational programs and seminars on new industry trends, innovations and solutions,” says Ryan Kaelin, Director of Concrete Construction Products for Simpson Strong-Tie. “It’s always an exciting trade show that is well attended by leading manufacturers and distributors within the industry.”

This year, the Simpson Strong-Tie fastener booth (505) will feature its Quik Drive®, Strong-Drive® and EB-TY® Premium Hidden Deck-Fastening System™ product lines. The concrete product booths (501 and 503) will showcase the new stainless-steel Titen HD screw anchors among other concrete and masonry products. Attendees will be able to see retail sets with supporting point-of-purchase options and hands-on counter-top displays.

Available in 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″ and 3/4″ diameters, Type 316 stainless-steel Titen HD anchors were introduced in April 2017 for severely corrosive applications, including water treatment plants, bridges and environments exposed to chemicals or salt water. With the recent launch of Type 304 stainless-steel anchors, customers now have a value-added option for application in breweries, commercial kitchens, sports stadiums and other less severe environments where corrosion protection is still needed.

“Beer is acidic and can be corrosive to brewing tanks, bottling lines and other machinery used in the brewery. Commercial kitchens are likewise exposed to food acids and corrosive cleaners, and stadium seating faces all kinds of environmental exposures,” says Simpson Strong-Tie senior product manager Mike Steiber. “Type 304 stainless-steel Titen HD anchors provide the protection these applications require but usually don’t get from other products currently available in the marketplace.”

Simpson Strong-Tie was the first manufacturer to launch large-diameter stainless-steel screw anchors for concrete and masonry. Designed for both interior and exterior environments, Titen HD heavy-duty screw anchors install easily with an impact wrench or hand tool and are code listed in IAPMO UES ER-493 (concrete) and ICC-ES ESR-1056 (masonry) for a wide variety of applications.

In addition to showcasing new product innovations, Simpson Strong-Tie will be offering sample giveaways of Strong-Drive and Deck-Drive™ screws to STAFDA attendees, and one lucky attendee will win a heavy-duty Simpson Strong-Tie cooler perfect for jobsites, tailgates and picnics.
