Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, continued its support of Habitat for Humanity by sponsoring the East Bay/Silicon Valley Women’s Leadership Build. The company has donated $65,000 to the Build since the start of its sponsorship in 2018.
At this year’s Build, the purpose remains the same — celebrating the power of women as leaders in the effort to combat the affordable housing crisis. Simpson Strong-Tie is supporting this keystone event with a $15,000 Gold sponsorship, making it possible for Habitat to continue to build through the crisis and beyond. The sponsorship helps fund the building of 42 affordable homes in The Esperanza Place community located in Walnut Creek, California. In conjunction with financial assistance, a group of 14 women leaders from Simpson Strong-Tie gathered at the construction site on June 10 to put hammer to nail and build the frames of these future homes.
“The Women’s Leadership Build is a great way to showcase the power that women leaders in our industry have in addressing societal issues — such as the need for safe and affordable housing,” said CEO Karen Colonias. “As a leader in the construction industry, we are very proud of our continued support for Habitat for Humanity and encourage all of our employees to participate in a build at least once in their career with Simpson Strong-Tie.”
