The MTHLD provides high capacity and versatility for erecting large cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor, wall and roof panels, glulam columns and glulam beams.
Made of powder-coated steel, the mass timber heavy-lifting device features a weld-on ring with 180º swivel and a six-screw hole pattern for symmetric two-, four- and six-screw options. To use, install the MTHLD onto the panel, column or beam using Simpson Strong-Tie Strong Drive® SDCF Timber‑CF structural screws in a quantity and pattern determined by the project designer. Attach rigging to the MTHLD and lift the timber, then remove and discard the screws after the lift and placement of the timber are complete.
The MTHLD can be used to lift with a face-grain attachment or tilt up with an edge attachment. It is OSHA Section 1926.753(e)(2) compliant. To accompany the product launch, Simpson Strong-Tie has updated its Lifting Device Design Guide to incorporate the MTHLD. This guide features mass timber lifting device solutions offered by Simpson Strong-Tie and instructions on the design, selection, and installation of these products.
