Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, has been awarded a 2026 Tool Award from Popular Mechanics magazine for the Quik Drive® Project Pro™ screw driving tool. The magazine’s annual awards program highlights the editors’ favorite tools among the many they tried and tested throughout the previous year.
The Quik Drive Project Pro attaches easily to nearly any cordless drill or driver, transforming it into an auto-feed screw driving tool that enables advanced DIYers to build or repair decks, fences, porches and flooring up to four times faster. The auto-feed technology drives screws repeatedly — just squeeze the trigger and apply pressure to drive — with no worry about fumbling or dropping screws.
“Simpson Strong-Tie’s Quik Drive Project Pro will turn your favorite drill driver into a speedy screw driving machine. Simply tighten your chuck on the hex drive shank and strap the base around your drill’s battery and it’s ready to go,” Popular Mechanics editors said. “We were really surprised how well it worked, and how fast we drove 2 ½-inch deck screws. We could drive one strip of 30 screws in about two minutes.”
Though a lower-cost option, Project Pro uses some of the same designs, patents and manufacturing channels as Simpson Strong-Tie’s Quik Drive pro-grade solutions.
The tool includes an easily accessible depth-of-drive adjustment dial and comes with a battery strap and T-25 6-lobe bit.
